I am a graphic designer based in the Cincinnati area, currently in a creative director/project manager role at Medpace. I am a wife and mother of two beautifully rambunctious boys. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati, DAAP in 2005 with a BS in graphic design. My co-op experience through DAAP’s Graphic Design program positioned me to get a jump-start on my professional graphic design career. I have gained extensive graphic design experience during my 15+ years in the field and I have also added creative direction and project management to my skill set.
While on co-op, I chose to work in different settings (in-house and traditional design firms) and industries to help me maximize my experience. I began my co-op in the marketing and communications department at Cincinnati Children’s hospital and then moved on to bigger design firms like FRCH and HyperQuake. After graduation, I began working for Nash Finch’s (now Spartan-Nash’s) Advertising Image Center as Advertising Manager. I filled two roles in that position: one as a marketing/media manager for local IGA stores and the other as a graphic designer.
After leaving the Advertising Image Center, I started my own freelance design firm, ahDesign, LLC. As a freelancer, I received projects from a sizable client-base. In this capacity, I began freelancing with companies such as Car-Freshner, Clermont Catholic Communities, Dover, Essex Food Ingredients, Hydro Systems, InControl Technical Solutions, Pole/Zero, Processor’s Choice, and Skidmore Sales & Distributing.
In 2016, I began a full-time graphic design position with Medpace’s Information Design department. In the last five years, I helped transform the culture within the department to become more design-focused and collaborative. I helped establish the graphic design role and the branding process that continues to set Medpace apart from other CROs. I was recently promoted to Senior Graphic Design Manager where I oversee creative work, assist with project management, assist with new business development, and focus on department initiatives.
